Our good friend Les Wolf Walters describes himself as a reluctant city dweller and a romantic. “I’m in love with the forest and forest culture. I feel that humans are animals and we should spend the majority of our lives outside. I work with plants for a living, but every free moment I have I spend in the forest exploring and practicing woodcraft skills that were common knowledge for our ancestors.” His master list features a selection of essential tools for camping, forest exploration, fire making and his passion for green woodworking.
“Flasks are a great thing to carry. You never know when you may need a little warming while camping or backpacking. In colder months, I’m a big fan of adding a little “something” to my hot drinks. Sometimes I’m lucky to make a friend on the trail and sharing a nip of libations from my Stanley flask helps to seal a new friendship. Plus, I love the classic Stanley green; it’s that old school American cool and reminds me of the thermos my mother carried back and forth to work when I was a kid. Nostalgia also warms the soul.”
